Six moods. One ritual.

  • Up to 70 hours 25, 50 or 70 hours, by size.
  • Poured in small batches Every candle filled, cured and labelled by hand.

Why a candle changes a room

Scent and flame reach the mood before the mind catches up.

Scent goes first

Smell is the one sense routed straight to the brain’s emotion and memory centres, which is why a scent can change a room before you notice it.

Light sets the pace

A low, warm flame is the oldest signal there is that the day is winding down, or that the night is just getting started.

Ritual makes it stick

Light the same mood for the same moment and it becomes a cue: Spark for deep work, Unwind for the bath, Glow when friends arrive.

No apps, no settings. Strike a match and the room changes. Each mood is blended for a moment you already have:

  • Closing the laptop at the end of the day
  • Slow Sunday mornings
  • Having people over
  • A long bath and a good book
  • Two hours of deep focus
  • Late, quiet nights

A Good Burn Builds

Treat the first burn right and every burn after it is better.

  1. Two to three hours

    First burn

Let the wax melt all the way to the edge. The first pool sets the candle’s memory and stops it tunnelling for the rest of its life.

  2. Trim to 5 mm

    Every burn

Trim the wick before you light it and burn for up to four hours at a time. A short wick means a calm flame, no soot, and a cleaner throw.

  3. Stop at 1 cm

    The last burn

When about a centimetre of wax is left, let it go. Then clean out the vessel; it makes a good tumbler, planter or pen cup.

From pour to flame,
nothing leaves our hands.

Small batches, poured, cured, wicked and labelled by people who burn these candles at home.

Blended in-house

Each mood is built from three notes and tested in real rooms, burn after burn, until the throw is right.

Cured before it ships

Soy needs time. Every batch rests for two weeks before it is boxed, so the scent fills the room from the first light.

Made to be reused

Heavy matte glass and tins you will want to keep. Burned down, cleaned out, they start a second life on your shelf.

Your Questions, Answered

Which mood should I start with?

Pick the moment, not the scent. Unwind is for the slow exhale at the end of the day; Spark for focus; Glow for having people over; Drift when you want the room to feel fresh; Ember for cold nights in; Velvet for late, close evenings. Not sure? The Mood Sampler has all six in 4 oz tins.

How long do they burn?

About 25 hours for a Mini Tin, 50 hours for a Classic and 70 hours for a Grand three-wick, burned in sessions of up to four hours with the wick trimmed to 5 mm.

What are the candles made of?

Soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and fragrance blends made for candles, poured into heavy matte glass (Classic and Grand) or a metal tin (Mini). Each label lists the mood’s three notes.

Where do you ship, and how fast?

We ship across Canada and to the United States. Orders are packed within two business days and you get a tracking link by email when yours leaves. Canadian orders over US$75 ship free. All prices are in US dollars.

My candle is tunnelling. What happened?

Usually the first burn was too short. Soy remembers its first melt pool, so let it melt all the way to the edge the first time (two to three hours). To rescue a tunnelled candle, wrap foil around the rim with a hole in the middle and burn until the surface is level.
